Over 6,000 people contacted Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) in 2015 over issues relating to poor housing conditions and bad landlord practices, it has been announced.
New figures show a total of 6,230 issues were raised with the organisation, an increase of over 6% from 201 and a 23% rise from two years prior.
Patrick Hogan, CAS Housing spokesman, said the CAS frequently sees cases related to "dampness and condensation, poor electrical wiring and un-safe appliances not being addressed."
In other instances, when a tenant raises these issues with a landlord, they are either met with "bullying or harassment".
Overall, the number of cases raised amounts to 24 every working day.
The CAS has now called for increased monitoring of the private rented sector and safeguarding the rights of tenants.
