Council To Deliver £200,000 Resurfacing Project In Inverclyde

A £200,000 roads resurfacing project is to get underway in Inverclyde.

The local authority is to fund the work to upgrade the main route linking Port Glasgow to Bridge of Weir.

Contractors will begin resurfacing the A761 Port Glasgow Road in Kilmacolm between Auchenbothie Road and Woodrow Avenue this week, beginning 07 March.

The project is part of the council's £29 million five-year investment in roads, pathways, street lighting and structures.

Councillor Michael McCormick said: "Last summer we completed another section of the A761 replacing the carriageway and improving drainage on the road and the feedback from local people has been extremely positive.

"Just over half a mile of road will be completely resurfaced over the next four weeks. This is a vital link between Inverclyde and neighbouring Renfrewshire and I am sure people will notice a real difference along this section once the work is completed."
