East Dunbartonshire Council has released a new digital form to respond to property repairs.
Once a repair is reported by a tenant, a text messaging service issues jobs to operatives electronically via hand-held devices.
The appointment will also be confirmed via a text message to the tenant, with a further message sent 24 hours before the appointment.
The software removes the need for contractors to return to the depot throughout the day, therefore allowing for a quicker service.
Cllr Billy Hendry said the new system means "massive financial savings" for the council.
A satisfaction survey is also available to fill out where tenants can comment on their experience with the service.
Cllr Hendry added: "The technology will continue to evolve and the feedback we received will be used to improve the overall customer experience for our tenants."
