Work Begins On £90,000 Sports Facility In Fife

Work has begun on a new £90,000 multi-use games area (MUGA) in Fife.

The project will see the new sports facility being built in Lochgelly.

It will be located on the former skate park at the top end of the Lochgelly Public Park.

The scheme is being funded by the council's Cowdenbeath area local community planning budget.

Cllr Willie Clarke said: "I'm really pleased to see work on this new MUGA under way. Lochgelly Public Park Improvement Group has been working hard, in partnership with Council staff, to make improvements to the Park. We'll see more of these improvements throughout the year including new lighting, signage and fencing as well as planting of a flower meadow, hedging and trees."

Work is due to be completed in spring.
