Work is underway on a city centre refurbishment project in Edinburgh.

Knight Property Group has begun redeveloping 110 George Street and 2 Castle Street to provide over 18,000 sq ft of office accommodation.

The two sites were acquired by the developer in early 2015.

Once completed, 110 George Street will offer five floors of office space totalling over 7,300 sq ft.

In addition, 2 Castle Terrace is undergoing a 'significant' refurbishment to enhance its internal space and common parts.

At nearly 11,000 sq ft, the building will contain four floor of office space behind a retained facade.

It is understood both properties will be available for lease in the second quarter of 2016.

Knight Property Group MD James Barrack said: "Both Castle Terrace and George Street properties are key purchases for Knight Property Group within the city centre.

"With the prestigious location of the properties and opportunity for refurbishment, we are confident we can create space that will fit the needs of the occupier market."
