Moray Council is to hold a public consultation this week on plans to establish a new primary school in Elgin.
Although a development site is still to be decided, pupils at the new school could begin lessons in temporary accommodation at East End Primary School annexe from next August.
Construction of the new school would not be completed until 2018.
Nursery facilities will also be provided once a permanent site is located.
The consultation will begin this week and will run until 04 February 2016.
Other meetings will be held at Elgin Town Hall on 06 January from 2pm – 3:30pm and again from 6:30pm to 8pm.
The outcome of the consultations will be discussed by the council's children and young people's services committee on 27 April.
