The Highland Housing Alliance (Highland HA) has handed over a number of new flats in Inverness.

Keys to the new Academy Street properties were given to tenants yesterday, 10 December.

The development comprises of 31 one- and two-bedroom 'affordable' flats.

A total of 17 flats were handed over through the National Housing Trust scheme by the Highland HA, while 14 were handed over by the Highland Council.

Each property is fitted with kitchens, carpets and blinds.

The homes were built under National Housing Trust (NHT) initiative with The Highland Council, Ark Estates, William Gray Construction and the Highland Housing Alliance.

Gail Matheson, Chief Executive of the Highland HA, said: "The Academy Street development is our first  regeneration project of new homes in the City Centre and has proved to be very popular. Demand remains high for similar properties.  

"The NHT project has boosted the provision of good quality new homes in Inverness, bringing much needed rental accommodation with the option to buy to local families."
