Aberdeenshire Council has agreed funding to replace an all-weather pitch and grass football pitch at a leisure centre.

The council's Policy and Resources Committee approved funding of £726,000 to replace the pitch at Peterhead's Catto Park.

Works will progress while discussions continue on the wider redevelopment of the Catto Park area in conjunction with Peterhead Football Club.

Last year, the committee agreed to supporting, in principle, the intention to redevelop the area.

Since then, a feasibility study has been undertaken and a business case developed.

Discussions are now underway on the scale of the wider project and potential sources of funding.

A tender is to be prepared for the replacement pitch.
