Transport Scotland is investing £348,000 of essential maintenance works on a road in North Ayrshire.
The scheme involves resurfacing the A78 trunk road between the Montefode and Chapelhill Roundabouts.
Work has started and the road will be closed until 5am on 14 September.
Scotland TranServ are carrying out the works on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Gordon Wilson, Contract Director for Scotland TranServ, said: "This essential maintenance scheme will improve the resilience of this section of the A78, which is used by over 8,000 road users each day, for years to come."
Signed diversions will be in place throughout the works.
