Glasgow City Council will host an Affordable Warmth even this week.

The exhibition will showcase the various programmes available for homes and businesses that offer reduced energy costs, tackle fuel poverty and reduce impact on the environment.

The council's Affordable Warmth team will outline to an audience of housing associations (HA) the available schemes, such as the Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland Area Base Schemes (HEEPS ABS).

Another programme includes the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) funding and initiatives using technology and renewables such as district heating, biomass, Ecopod projects and innovative programmes for insulating Glasgow homes.

Improvements were made to over 3,600 homes in 2014, with wall insulation estimated to save Glasgow households £1.1 million on fuel bills.

Bailie Liz Cameron said: "Glasgow City Council is providing support for households, housing associations and business across the city through a number of schemes that will benefit many in terms of energy costs and living standards, and all of us environmentally.

"The council's Affordable Warmth team have achieved a great deal for Glasgow in recent years and will provide key information for the city's housing associations at this week's event."

The event is to be held today 9 July in The Lighthouse.
