Some 2.1 miles of water mains are to be replaced in Inchinnan, it has been announced. The work, being carried out by contractors Caledonian Water Alliance (CWA) on behalf of Scottish Water, will commence on 23 February.
It is expected to take around seven weeks to complete.
During this time, road traffic management will be in place, with two-way traffic lights being installed at Houston Road. The lights will progress with the work as the project continues along the road.
Then from 3 March, for about one week, two/three-way traffic signals and a convoy system will be in operation at Barnsford Road, from Houston Road to Greenock Road. From 13 March, again for a week, the outbound lane of Greenock Road at its junction with Barnsford Road will be closed. From 19 March, Houston Road at its junction with Barnsford Road will be closed for two weeks to allow work to be carried out. Local diversions will be in place.
Following this, Barnsford Road from Houston Road to Inchinnan Drive will close for two weeks, with two-way traffic signals with a convoy system in operation.
