Five proposals for a potential redevelopment of Perth City Hall have been received by the local council.
The bids follow a period of remarketing the building, located in the city centre, to prospective developers.
The closing date for applications was last week (16 January) and these bids will now be evaluated independently by Jones Lang Lasalle. They will establish if any of the bids are compliant, outlining a credible and financially deliverable business case to undertake a redevelopment of the historic building.
Perth City Hall has lain empty since a new concert hall opened in the area in 2005. Councillors had initially voted to demolish the listed building, but it was then agreed that a 125-year lease on the hall should be marketed to see if there was an alternative. Previous suggestions for an alternative use for the building included an indoor market and a luxury hotel.
