Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has lodged an appeal with the Scottish government over the rejection of a proposed wind farm near Kirkcudbright.
The five-turbine development at Bercloy Hill was rejected by Dunfries and Galloway Council in July.
RES say that it has lodged the appeal because the visual impact of the proposal had been "over-stated".
A decision of the appeal is expected next year.
