Decision Expected On Marischal Square

Councillors in Aberdeen are to decide if they will support a major development in the city centre.

The site in question is that of the former Aberdeen City Council headquarters.

Plans have been submitted by developers Muse to build a £107m mixed-use development on the site. It includes a hotel, office complex, retail outlets and restaurants.

A report on the proposals will be debated by the council today, which recommends they give the green light to the scheme.

The site was vacated by council staff in 2011 when they moved to the newly-refurbished Marischal College building in the city centre.
