A restoration project has commenced on a historic jute mill in Dundee.
The High Mill, located in the city, is being transformed as part of the Verdant Works museum.
According to reports, the Dundee Heritage Trust is responsible for the £2.9m project. The investment will see the A-listed property double the size of Verdant Works and provide new exhibition and education spaces. The work will include removing the floor of the derelict mill and creating a cathedral-like space.
George Martin Builders will undertake the main building work.
Mark Munsie, Operations Director for Dundee Heritage Trust, is quoted as saying: "Everyone involved with the Trust is delighted that work has finally begun on site – it is such a boost to the morale of our staff and volunteers who have seen the sorry state of the buildings in recent years."
