Home Energy Efficiency Project Complete

Ayrshire Housing has completed the installation of air source heat pumps into 33 properties in the village of Dailly.

The project was made possible due to a £132,000 grant from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, which covered around half of the total cost of the installations. Coolheat was the appointed contractor for the project.

In addition to the above, Ayrshire Housing confirmed it has received a separate grant from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) Energy Idea's Fund. This has allowed Edinburgh Napier University to undertake a year-long evaluation of the installations.

The study, being led by Professor John Currie of the University's Scottish Energy Centre, is intended to inform the development of other retrofit projects in older stock.
