A new asbestos framework has been launched in Scotland by LHC Scotland.
It will be for use by all local authorities in the country, as well as housing associations and other public sector building owners.
The Asbestos Works and Services (AS1) framework provides extensive asbestos management services, air sampling and monitoring, plus works that include the safe removal and disposal of the material.
Clive Feeney, Divisional Manager, said: "LHC Scotland has launched this arrangement to compliment its extensive range of building refurbishment frameworks. This is a service that is in much demand with a significant asbestos problem that still needs to be dealt with, often when completing other refurbishment projects.
"LHC Scotland has established the framework to provide a best value option so that public sector organisations can feel confident that they are getting a high quality service from one of the nine specialist companies appointed to the framework."
