Cornmill Square To Officially Open

The newly-refurbished Cornmill Square, located in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, is to be officially opened on Sunday (8 June).

It will be opened by Braw Lads' principals Alice Mackay and Daniel Whitehead.

Ms Mackay is the 2014 Braw Lass while Mr Whitehead is the 2013 Braw Lad.

They will unveil the new civic space in the town, which was originally opened in 1913. Councillor Gordon Edgar, Scottish Borders Council's Executive Member for Roads and Infrastructure, will also be in attendance.

Works to transform the town square commenced in January 2014 and are part of the wider Galashiels Inner Relief Road improvements scheme.
