Consultation on additional guidance for developers looking to build in Dundee has been launched by the city council.

Since the new Dundee Local Development Plan was created, two new pieces of supplementary guidance have been drafted covering air quality and developer contributions.

The air quality guidance sets out general advice on when and where it should be taken into account when applying for planning permission and the steps that should be followed to meet the requirements of the relevant section of the Local Development Plan.

It also identifies the main sources of air pollution in Dundee and general areas where it is a concern.

There is advice on what is needed at the pre-planning application stage, applying for planning permission and ways of reducing air pollution that could help applications get approved.

The second consultation concerns developer contributions.

When development is proposed in some areas of the city, new or improved services, facilities or infrastructure are needed to support it. This can include the provision of new or improved roads and other transport networks, schools, drainage facilities and more.
