Scottish Water has released a statement regarding a pollution incident on the River Farg and the River Earn.
It said that the pollution is located immediately downstream of the Glenfarg Reservoir and it is currently in talks with SEPA and other stakeholders to investigate the issue.
The utility provider has advised residents in Glenfarg village to stay away from the river, while farmers, fishermen and recreational users of the river have also been told to avoid using it.
The source of the pollution is due to an incident at the Glenfarg Water Treatment Works, where a quantity of aluminium sulphate was released into the River Farg on Tuesday night.
Scottish Water has stressed that drinking water supplies for Scottish Water customers are not affected by the incident and no impact on private water supplies is expected.
