NHS Highland has confirmed that extensive work to refurbish the Dingwall Health Centre is now complete.
To mark the end of the £1.5m upgrade, an open day will be held for the local community to see how the new centre looks.
The project will allow the health centre to continue to support the provision of treatment and care closer to home and hopes to develop this further with the additional space now available, therefore reducing the need for people to travel to larger centres.
With 11,600 patients, the Dingwall Medical Group, which is based in the centre, has 11 doctors, four practice nurses, a healthcare technician, two managers and 15 administrative staff; while the community staff team at the facility includes community nurses, midwives, social workers, care at home workers and allied health professionals.
NHS Highland Mid area manager, Georgia Haire, said: "The work that has been undertaken has enabled us to develop and extend the services available at the health centre and also allows for any future expansion that may be needed.
"There have been a number of noticeable changes, such as alterations to the ground floor to provide more appropriate patient consulting and treatment facilities, much improved waiting areas and facilities as well as fitting out the roof space with community health and social care staff accommodation and additional staff and patient treatment facilities."
The open day will be held on Thursday 19 June from 11am to 4pm.
