An eight-screen cinema is reportedly being proposed for the city of Inverness.
According to the BBC, F&C Reit are behind the plans. They are the owners of the largest shopping centre in the Highlands.
It is understood the plans for the cinema, as well as some restaurants, will be an extension to the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness.
Around 120 jobs could be created by the project.
Currently, the centre covers a total of 320,000sq ft.
F&C Reit Asset Manager, Spencer Gower, is quoted by the BBC as saying: "The face of shopping centres are changing.
"With so many people shopping online it is important that centres have a fusion of retail and leisure to attract customers.
"The visitor experience is becoming more and more important particularly in Inverness where tourism is so important."
