Auchtermuchty Library in Fife has re-opened following an extensive refurbishment project.

New lighting, shelving, furniture and carpeting were installed as part of the work, while a new disabled toilet and automatic doors have also been delivered. Meanwhile, the new layout will allow for more flexibility in the children's area where more activities and events are planned.

Rick Cunningham, a library assistant at Auchtermuchty Library is quoted by Fife Council as saying: "The buzz on the day of the opening was very encouraging and exciting and all the positive comments make all the hard work worthwhile."
