Morrison Construction is to hold a meet the buyer event next week.
The drop-in session will provide local businesses with the opportunity to meet those responsible for awarding contracts to suppliers in relation to the delivery of the £5.2m Transport Interchange.
A number of suppliers are required for the ambitious project including bricklayers, electricians, joiners, plasterers and steel erectors.
Councillor Stuart Bell, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: "The Council is committed to supporting local communities across the Borders throughout the construction and delivery of the Transport Interchange.
"The project is integral to the Council's long-term aim of improving the environment of Galashiels town centre, and will promote better connections between all means of sustainable transport.
"I would encourage any local firms to attend the supplier event and find out more about getting involved in the Galashiels Transport Interchange project."
Paul McGirk, Chief Executive of Hub South East Scotland Ltd, Development Partner, added: "One of the key aims of the Hub initiative is to ensure the delivery of community benefits for local people and businesses.
"This includes a commitment to involving local SMEs in construction and to this end we are keen to attract as many people as possible to this event in the Borders."
Alastair Sutherland, Project Manager for Morrison Construction, commented: "This event gives sub-contractors and suppliers an opportunity to register their interest in the Galashiels Transport Interchange project and potential upcoming projects in the region with Morrison Construction.
"We recognise the need to support and work with the local supply chain and this event will be attended by key decision makers and will therefore be a good opportunity for the supply chain to meet senior members of the Morrison team."
The event will be held in the Burgh Chambers, Galashiels, on Wednesday 19 March from 11am to 7pm.
