Plans to construct a new hotel in Inverness have been withdrawn by the developer, it has been reported.
According to the BBC, Carlton Rock Ltd are no longer proposing to construct the hotel at Glebe Street, which overlooks the River Ness.
Just last week, the Highland Council recommended the plans for approval.
The developer had asked to construct a seven-storey building on the site. It would have 165 bedrooms, a restaurant and lounge bar, gym and conference room.
The site in question is that of a demolished public swimming pool which has lain vacant for a number of years.
In its approval, the planning officers for the local authority said a number of the 17th Century gravestones located nearby would need to be preserved and protected from any building work.
