Students at Inverness College UHI have submitted design plans for a terminal at Skye airfield.
The architectural students worked together to plan a hub building and a hangar for a Twin Otter-size aircraft, the BBC has reported.
The project is in connection to the Fly Skye campaign which wants commercial flights to resume at the Ashaig airfield.
The Scottish Government has previously said it does not plan to fund the return of flights to and from Skye. In July 2013, Transport Minister Keith Brown said the air service would need 'significant' capital investment and subsidy.
