Perth and Kinross Council have confirmed that work to upgrade the A93/B951 Lair junction, north of the Bridge of Cally, is complete.
As a result, the junction will be fully re-opened to traffic before Christmas.
Work on the scheme commenced in July 2013 and aimed to improve visibility and safety for motorists, making it easier for large vehicles to manoeuvre along the road, plus replacing the Lair Bridge. Further works were also carried out to improve the drainage and surfacing of a section of the B951, adjacent to the Shee Water.
The contractors for the project was I & H Brown.
Last month, an important stage in the works was completed and traffic was switched over to the newly aligned A93. Now, the traffic light controls at the junction are scheduled to be removed with both the A93 and B951 being fully reopened to vehicles by Friday 20 December.
Council Leader, Councillor Ian Miller, commented: "This has been a major project to upgrade an important junction in East Perthshire and improve road safety for all users. I am very pleased that we have now completed both the main works and the additional improvements on the B951, which will help reduce disruption to the local travelling public in the coming year by avoiding the need for any further scheduled closures on the B951."
Roger Philpott, Contracts Director for I & H Brown, added: "As a local contractor, we are delighted to have completed our second project on the A93 for Perth & Kinross Council. Like the previous scheme at Middle Mause, this project has enjoyed an excellent working environment, with collaboration to the fore."
