McTaggart Construction, a leading affordable housing contractor in Scotland, is marking a notable double milestone as four long-serving colleagues celebrate 20 years with the business in the same year the company turns 80.
Office Manager Kim Easton, Payroll Manager Lorraine Brackenridge, Site Manager Allan Russell and Contracts Manager Tom McCombe all joined in 2006. Together, they represent 80 years of combined service — a fitting echo of the firm's eight decades since its founding in 1946.
Spanning roles from head office to active construction sites, the quartet have each contributed to the company's growth, culture and standing within Scotland's housing sector.
Kim Easton, who started as an administrator before progressing to office manager, said: "I feel incredibly lucky to have reached 20 years at McTaggart Construction. I've grown as a person whilst the company has grown too, and I'm proud of all it has achieved".
"After joining as an accounts assistant, Lorraine Brackenridge advanced to payroll manager following the liquidation of her previous employer. She said: "Joining McTaggart was the best thing I could have done. I can't imagine not being here with all the gang."
Allan Russell began as an apprentice straight from school and is now a site manager. He said: "Reaching 20 years is something I'm really proud of. It's been a rewarding journey and one I'm very grateful for."
Tom McCombe joined as a site manager in 2006 and was promoted to contracts manager in 2015, drawn by the company's reputation as a well-established, family-run business. He said: "Two decades on, I'm still proud to be part of McTaggart Construction. It reflects the strength of the company and the positive working environment that has kept me here".
Janice Russell, Managing Director, said: "The people around us are what make McTaggart Construction the company it is, and to have Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom each celebrating 20 years in the same year is special. We are a business built on loyalty, trust and long-term relationships, and these four individuals embody exactly that. We are absolutely delighted to recognise their commitment and dedication, particularly in a year that means so much to us."
Rosslyn Anderson, Director, added: "In 80 years of building homes and communities, our values as a company have never changed. What has always mattered most is our people. Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom joined us two decades ago and have been part of our story ever since, through periods of growth and change, and through the various challenges along the way. As a family business, we couldn't be prouder to celebrate their 20 years alongside our own 80th. Thank you, from all of us."
As McTaggart Construction marks its 80th anniversary, the achievements of Kim, Lorraine, Allan and Tom underline the loyalty and family values that have shaped the company since 1946 and continue to guide it today.
