Maxi Construction Renews Support For Career Ready

Construction News Image

Harry has completed a four-week paid work placement with Maxi Construction through the Career Ready programme.

He began with Health and Safety Awareness training to build a solid foundation before joining site teams. During the placement he worked alongside Site Managers and shadowed a range of trades, gaining hands-on experience and a clear understanding of the many roles involved in delivering construction projects.

The experience confirmed Harry’s ambition to become a joiner, and he is now exploring both college courses and apprenticeship opportunities as he moves towards entering the trade.

Under Maxi Construction’s sponsorship, Harry passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment touchscreen test during his placement. His CSCS card application has been submitted and, to support his next steps, he was presented with a starter tool bag and essential tools to help him begin his career.

Looking ahead, Harry aims to develop his joinery skills before progressing within the industry, with a long-term goal of becoming a Site Manager.

Although the placement has concluded, Maxi Construction will continue to mentor Harry throughout his final year at school, helping him explore his options and supporting his transition into a career in construction.

Maxi Construction has partnered with Career Ready since 2016, providing mentoring and meaningful workplace experiences that build confidence, develop skills and prepare young people for the world of work. The company is proud to help the next generation build successful careers.

Maxi Construction thanked Harry for his enthusiasm, commitment and positive attitude throughout his placement and wished him every success as he embarks on a promising future in construction.
