Scottish Gas customers residing in the north of Scotland are to face higher price hikes than the rest of the UK.
The discovery comes after it was revealed yesterday (17 October) that the company's owners, Centrica, are to increase its prices next month.
From 23 November, an average UK duel-fuel bill will rise by 9.2%.
However, when the figures are broken down, regional difference mean those domestic customers living north of Perth will be faced with an average increase of 11.2%.
This is the largest increase within the UK.
For customers in the south of Scotland, they will see their bills increase an average of 9.5%.
This compares to the south west of England, where the smallest rise is a 6.8% rise in costs.
Centrica said the regional price differences reflected the variations in the network costs it is obliged to pay to the transmission companies around the UK. Scotland's electricity transmission network is split between Scottish Hydro in the north, and Scottish Power for central and southern Scotland.
Earlier this month, rival SSE said it was to enforce an 8.2% increase in its bills from 15 November 2013.
