New proposals have been submitted to create a new, shared pedestrian and cycle path along a busy Inverness road, the BBC has reported.
Referred to as an 'active travel route', the path would be constructed long Millburn Road and would help connect Inverness with a new campus situated at Beechwood on the A9.
It is understood a funding package of £388,000 has been earmarked to cover the cost of the project.
A committee will be asked to approve the proposals on Monday and if supported, work could begin on the scheme as early as October.
The new route has been proposed as part of the planned East Inverness Active Travel Corridor.
