A £100k restoration scheme to Bannockburn's Quakerfield shopping parade has been completed.

The area in front of the facility has been upgraded with paving slabs and asphalt replacing the old paving, while the street trees have been replaced.

The steps at the bank have also been removed with a new wall and ramps erected to improve access to the building.

In addition, new street furniture has been installed and includes new seating, streetlights, bins and cycle parking.

The landscaped area looks onto a new 'civic area', with Bannockburn Community Council preparing to discuss with the local community about what they would like see in this area.

To mark the completion of the works Stirling Council Housing Portfolio Holder Councillor Violet Weir attended the site and said: "These significant improvements have completely transformed the shopping area and the positive feedback from local residents, businesses and shoppers has been tremendous.

"Bannockburn Community Council should also be congratulated for their on-going commitment to work with the Council in helping to make improvements in the town, local parks and open spaces."
