Work on Edinburgh’s new tram system has recommenced, following the festive break.
Tram contractors have opened worksites and re-started tram works as the city prepares for the completion of the transport development.
One of the next phases in the project will be system testing and tram test runs, which will continue between the Gogar depot and Edinburgh International Airport.
Edinburgh Council has reported successful full-speed tram tests were carried out in December last year.
The Council says the tram project remains in line with the revised budget of £776m, as approved by the Council in September 2011.
Work on the development is either ahead of schedule or in line with the revised timescale reported in December 2011.
Passenger services are expected to be up and running by summer 2014, while it is anticipated that full route tram testing will take place from Edinburgh Airport to York Place in late Spring 2014.
