Graham Construction has landed a £4.7m development at Langholm Primary School in Dumfries & Galloway.
The contract comprises 1767m² new build accommodation and 122m² of refurbished accommodation.
The finished development will consist of a 7-classroom primary school and nursery.
Graham are working on a cross-laminated timber frame and an external envelope made from a combination of stone, render and timber cladding with aluminium windows and external doors.
The games hall will be extended using a steel framed structure with masonry infill panels.
Internally, the cross-laminated timber structure will form the internal partitions and roof deck.
The development will also feature renewable energy solutions like solar thermal and PV panels, biomass heating, low energy lighting and rainwater recovery.
