East Lothian Council and Dunedin Canmore Housing Association (DCHA) have delivered 18 new homes at Rollo Court, High Street, Prestonpans.
A partnership of East Lothian Council and Dunedin Canmore Housing Association (DCHA) has delivered 18 new homes at Rollo Court, High Street, Prestonpans, with nine homes for social rent by the Council and nine for shared ownership by DCHA.
The new homes were built by local company Robert Rollo and Sons who previously owned the site. The project provided job security for the local builder and also local sub-contractors and suppliers. This brings the total number of homes on the site to 26, eight having previously been built by Dunedin Canmore for social rent.
Councillor Innes said: "It gives me great pleasure to formally present Paul Hamilton with the keys to his home today and mark the completion of a successful housing project with Dunedin Canmore. I hope that Mr Hamilton enjoys many happy years in his new home."
The partnership involved DCHA providing project management and Clerk of Work Services on behalf of East Lothian Council.
Susan Napier, Business Development Director of DCHA said: "We are delighted that Councillor Innes has agreed to officially open our latest new development in East Lothian. The project is an excellent example of what can be achieved by working in partnership with the Council and the Scottish Government to deliver much needed new affordable homes.
"We are also delighted that the project supported local construction work for Robert Rollo and Sons and also local suppliers and subcontractors. We look forward to working in partnership with the council, the government and Robert Rollo and Sons to deliver future new affordable homes within East Lothian."
