Engineering and construction services for Scotland's 32 councils are to be rolled in to one mega contract.
Come September, firms will be able to bid for the newly-created framework contract, covering all Scottish councils.
Scotland Excel, a joint procurement body for the local authorities, said in a procurement prior information notice that they will start the awarding process on September 11 for a contract for a host of engineering, construction and related technical professional services.
The contract will include roads and structures, transportation, environmental engineering, land surveying, drainage and flooding, geotechnical and testing as well as project management, planning and development, CDM-C and legal/contractual support.
Scotland Excel will act as a gateway, and prepare, negotiate and approve contracts on behalf of councils.
Some other public bodies will be entitled to use the framework on the same terms as local authorities.
