Aiken Group Modular Division Announces Expansion

Construction News Image
Aberdeen-based Aiken Group has announced 8,500 square foot expansion of its Torry headquarters to cope with an upturn in business.

The workshop space has been acquired by the Group’s modular division, Modu-Link to allow expansion of its turnkey services for the provision of A, H and Blast rated modular units for the UK and overseas markets.

The increase brings Modu-Link’s workshop space to almost 20,000 square feet of Aiken Group’s 30,000 square feet premises close to Aberdeen Harbour.

Aiken Group managing director Danny Donald said: "Ongoing growth in all areas of Aiken Group means that space is an important issue for us, but our extensive facilities allow us to grow as a company without the need to relocate from our prime location in the heart of the city and within easy reach of the harbour.

"Modu-Link has experienced amazing growth due to the hard work and skill of project manager Tommy Smith and his highly skilled team. They continually manufacture custom-built modular units of the highest standards, and their clients are never disappointment in the quality of final product achieved."

Aiken Group is a leading multi-discipline company specialising in accommodation upgrades, refurbishments and new-builds worldwide. It is headquartered on Crombie Road in Aberdeen and the 25-year-old company employs 62 staff at its Aberdeen headquarters, plus around 100 personnel worldwide. In 2011 the company announced turnover of £12 million.
