Allowing its recent AGM held during the CIH Scotland Annual Conference and Exhibition last week, CIH is pleased to announce that Elaine Gibson, Director of ANCHO, is the new Chair of CIH Scotland.
Elaine GibsonElaine has worked in housing for over 30 years, in a wide variety of roles from frontline to director level. She has experience of working for both local government and housing associations and has been Director of ANCHO for over 10 years.
In her address to the CIH Scotland Conference in Glasgow, Elaine said: "Many great people work in housing, but they don’t always recognise how great they are and what a difference they can make. Here at CIH we can help them both recognise this, by celebrating successes and good practice, and help them to sustain great performance through education and training. We can also harness that greatness towards influencing policy and best practice in the sector.
"I would like to spend my time as Chair reminding the Scottish Government, fellow professionals, tenants and other customers that good housing and housing services can really make a difference in so many ways. Investing in new housing, improving existing housing, dealing with antisocial behaviour, meeting the housing needs of applicants – all this really does make a difference to the people we help – actually transforming lives."
