Kongsberg Maritime Become Westpoint Business Park's Final Tenant

Aberdeen-based Knight Property Group has secured Kongsberg Maritime Limited as the tenant for its most recent commercial property venture, Pavilion 7 at Westpoint Business Park in Westhill.

Knight Property Group has created an investment in the region of £7 million with the development of Pavilion 7, on which Kongsberg has signed a 15 year lease.

The development of this property signifies the completion of the 6.75 acre site. Knight has created a £35 million investment through the purchase and development of the entire site which provides approximately 166,000 square feet of commercial space to its occupants who also include TAQA Bratani, Bluesky Business Space and Seabrokers.

James Barrack, chairman and Managing Director, Knight Property Group, said: “We commenced the development of Pavilion 7 in October 2011 and are targeting a completion date of June 2012. “It is fantastic to see the completion of Westpoint Business Park, which we commenced in the summer of 2007 and its success is testament to the location and flexibility the properties offer to the occupants. There is strong demand for both commercial and industrial space in Aberdeen which we are continuously striving to fill.

“Westhill is an extremely popular location with a variety of local amenities, shops, hotels, etc and we had a lot of interest in this development. It is a prime location and as it is a short distance to the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) this will improve access and travel times even further down the line.”

The agent acting for Knight Property Group is Graham and Sibbald, while Ryden is acting for Kongsberg Maritime.

Recognised as Scotland’s Developer of the Year in 2009, Knight Property Group was established in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1987 and provides a complete range of property investment and development services.

The company has extensive experience in the design and build of new facilities and the refurbishment and upgrading of existing properties.
