Contractors were on a high this week as the £10m extension of Aberdeen Airport's main runway was officially opened.
The builders have moved off site and the aircraft taxied in well ahead of schedule.
The opening came just seven months after work started in March and while it was expected to finish next summer, it was completed almost eight months early.
Teams of around 120 construction workers have been hard at work every night to ensure the stretch was completed sooner than expected.
The work saw the length of the runway extension adding 124m (406ft) and it is hoped the runway could open up new routes.
A British Airways Boeing 757 from London Heathrow was the first plane to touch down on the freshly laid surface yesterday at the official opening of the extension.
