Wigtownshire councillors are being urged to reject plans for a wind farm because of its "significant adverse impact" on the landscape.

Developer RES said the project could generate enough power to meet the demand of 14,000 homes and wants to construct 11 turbines at Glenchamber between New Luce, Kirkcowan and Glenluce.

Planning officers have recommended the council turn down the bid due to landscape issues and concern relating to the proximity to four designated prehistoric archaeological sites.

As part of the application, RES has also proposed setting up an annual fund of £50,000 to invest in the communities near the development.
