Scottish Renewables Launches 2011 Annual Conference & Exhibition

Scottish Renewables annual conference Scotland Unlimited: Realising the Ambition will be held in Glasgow on 22 and 23 March 2011.

This landmark event for the renewables industry attracts over 400 attendees, who this year will hear from renowned national and international speakers addressing the big issues facing the sector including skills development, investment opportunities, technology innovation and how to build the foundations of future growth.

Scottish Renewables welcomes Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chairman of SSE, Yvo de Boer, facilitator of the UN climate summit, Copenhagen 2010, Stuart Cook, Ofgem, and Terry Garcia, Executive Vice President, National Geographic Society who will speak at the SECC.

Niall Stuart, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said: "The renewables sector has had an incredible year with the Scottish Government setting an 80 per cent renewable electricity target, reflecting the ambitions of Scotland’s industry. Our annual conference will be the focal point for business leaders and representatives who share the desire to achieve Scotland’s aspirations for renewable energy at home and abroad."
