First Winner For Panton McLeod’s Repair Draw

Water quality engineering firm Panton McLeod has presented a Scottish Water graduate trainee with a new i-Pod Touch after she beat hundreds of other entrants in a special prize draw.

Graduate management trainee Vivienne Dell was awarded the state of the art gadget after being named as the lucky winner of Panton McLeod’s “Made to Measure” competition – which was held as part of recent promotion of the company’s Repair Services division.

The UK-wide promotion of the firm’s repairs services encouraged recipients to respond to an advert in their latest marketing brochure, in order receive a free tape measure and be entered into the draw for an i-Pod Touch.

Vivienne was picked above hundreds of other entrants and was presented with her prize at Scottish Water’s offices in Fairmilehead by Panton McLeod managing director Iain Weir.

Iain Weir said: “We haven’t organised a competition like this before, so we were apprehensive about what the reaction would be. Producing a brochure and targeting people within the water industry is one thing, but actually getting them to engage with you and take the time to enter is much more difficult.

“However, the reaction that we had was overwhelming. We had hundreds of entries from all across the UK, so our ‘made to measure’ promotion really appears to have caught the imagination of the water industry.

“We’d like to offer our congratulations to Vivienne for winning the competition and we hope she enjoys her i-Pod Touch. As a result of the success of the draw we are now planning a second competition in June.”

Vivienne added: “It isn’t often that you see a competition that is held purely for people in the water industry, so it’s great that Panton McLeod decided to set this contest up.

“There seems to have been a lot of entries for the draw, so I’m delighted to be named as their first-ever prize winner. I’m looking forward to enjoying my new i-Pod Touch and I really hope Panton McLeod has even more success in their next draw.”

Panton McLeod is one of the UK’s leading water quality engineering firms and works with many of the biggest names in the water sector. It specialises in the inspection, cleaning and repair of structures used to store drinking water across the UK.

The firm’s repairs division has carried out numerous projects north of the Border for Scottish Water – including performing a full refurbishment and new membrane fitting for a strategic Service Reservoir in Cowhill, Fort William, and carrying out major roof repairs to two tanks at Loch Ascog in Argyll & Bute.

The firm, which has offices in the Scottish Borders and Nottingham, has also pioneered the use of innovative underwater robots which can inspect and clean water storage structures while they are still filled with drinking water and in service – meaning there is no disruption to customers’ supplies.
