Residents Invited To Attend Stobhill Sanctuary Opening

Local residents are being invited to a special dedication ceremony for the Sanctuary at the New Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow.

The Sanctuary is yet one more feature of the multi-award winning hospital which has, since opening its doors to patients last summer, won seven prestigious international design and architecture awards.

Ravinder Kaur Nijjar, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board Member and Chair of Board’s Spiritual Care Committee, said: "The Sanctuary is a space dedicated for use by patients, staff and visitors for prayer, quiet, meditation and peace. It embodies the ethos of spiritual care by being an inclusive, accessible, and supportive space for use by people of all backgrounds, beliefs and faiths.

"We would be delighted if local residents from North and East Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire of all faiths and beliefs joined us for this event."

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday 28 September 2010 at 6.30pm.
