Edinburgh Architects Chosen To Design New Centre

One of Scotland's leading architect practices has been chosen as the design team for the new £12m Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre.

Edinburgh-based jmarchitects, whose headquarters are in Queen Street, are highly experienced in designing modern health centres across the United Kingdom.

Councillor Paul Edie, Health and Social Care leader, said: "It's great news such a high calibre design team has been appointed for the new Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre.

"jmarchitects have a great track record in health design and I'm sure their plans will provide an iconic building."

Peter McCormick, Project Director with jmarchitects, said: "We are delighted to be involved with this very important landmark project and look forward to delivering a high quality facility for the city and community of Wester Hailes."

It is anticipated work on the new centre will start next year and be completed in 2012.
