Calum Macpherson has been appointed manager with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) for the Moray area.

He took up the post on Monday 28 September following the appointment of previous manager Martin Johnson to area manager with the HIE Inner Moray Firth team.

After graduating from Aberdeen University with a law degree, Calum worked in Aberdeen as a tax consultant. He joined the agency in 1999 and until this appointment acted as HIE's Head of Area Operations, a role which covered the whole HIE area.

Calum said: "Moray is a dynamic area. Many of the country's most successful and ambitious businesses operate here, and many more would like to. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the dedicated team in HIE Moray who are building on the economic success in the area."

Welcoming Calum to the post, William Roe, HIE chair said: "Calum will do sterling work for Moray and the wider region in this role. His enthusiasm will further complement the team's contribution to businesses and communities in an area known for its vision, entrepreneurship and ambition."
