Aberdeen Council Hosts Construction Showcase

Aberdeen City Council is to host a construction showcase highlighting the positive future of the local construction industry this week.

The event will focus on the large number of private and public sponsored projects currently being planned in the city.

The council, which chairs the Construction Industry Development Forum, has invited 90 delegates from local construction firms to attend the event at the Town and County Hall from 5.30pm until 8pm tonight [24 February].

Presentations will be given on: Olympic and Commonwealth Games; social housing stock expansion, the Scottish Council for Development Industry's 10 point plan for construction; Energetica, the Trump development, the Energy Futures Centre, NHS Grampian developments and other planned key projects.

It is also hoped that this showcase will maintain local confidence and ensure that investment in staff development and apprenticeships remains high within Aberdeen City and Shire.
