Overnight closures will take place on the A1 at Wallyford from Monday 2 November, as BEAR Scotland carries out resurfacing on behalf of Transport Scotland.
Work is scheduled over five nights between 20:30 and 06:00, with completion expected by 06:00 on Saturday 7 November.
The scheme will repair deteriorated sections on the A1 Wallyford northbound on‑slip and the A1 southbound carriageway, aiming to deliver a smoother and safer road surface for motorists.
Northbound closures will run from Monday 2 to Wednesday 4 November, affecting the stretch between Wallyford Junction and Old Craighall Junction. Traffic will leave the A1 at Wallyford Junction and follow the A6094, A68 and A720 Edinburgh City Bypass to rejoin at Old Craighall Junction. This diversion is expected to add around 2.2 miles and five minutes to journeys.
Southbound closures will be in place on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November, between Old Craighall Junction and Wallyford Junction. Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass, A68 and A6094, rejoining the A1 at Wallyford Junction. This route is anticipated to add approximately 2 miles and six minutes.
Local stakeholders have been notified in advance. Emergency vehicles will be able to access the area throughout.
