Aberdeen children have made their mark on history by burying a time capsule at their newly refurbished primary school.
Chap Construction is due to hand over the newly refurbished and extended building to Hanover Street School next month.
The pupils were asked to provide items reflecting the time they live in, for inclusion in the time capsule.
Headteacher Debbie Moir said: "Deciding on the contents of the time capsule with depute headteacher Mrs Annal has been an exciting experience for all the pupils at Hanover. The whole school voted for items they felt represented the times that we are living in today."
The time capsule has been buried with a school badge, pupils' letters and photos, a school DVD and a Now 73 CD. A plaque is to be mounted to mark the burial.
An additional floor was added to the existing Victorian building along with two large extensions. The pupils will return to light and airy classrooms, dining hall, gym hall and ICT/library areas.
The new school will benefit the community through an improved and modern learning environment, which includes two nursery classrooms on the first floor.
The playground has also been upgraded, with help from the pupils, who entered a design competition run by the school board.
The playground will incorporate fixed play equipment structures, for both the primary and nursery children on rubber playtop surfacing, and a play store.
