Fife Council has agreed to invest nearly £1m on home improvements the Glenrothes Area.
The programme will contribute to the Council's plan to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015.
The work consists of programmes for kitchens, bathrooms, roof and replacement heating systems, windows and doors.
It should benefit over 300 houses in the Glenrothes Area and will be carried out over the next nine months.
Councillor Fiona Grant, Chair of Glenrothes Area Committee said: "This will be a welcome investment to the Glenrothes Area, and is addition to the £2.95m of capital improvements already agreed this year."
"Improving access to housing and the condition of our housing stock is one of our eight main priorities as a Council. This new investment is a practical local example of this in action and it shows how it will involve and make a difference to local people in Glenrothes."
